Google Developer Student Clubs - Technical Lead
Google Developer Student Clubs are accredited technology-oriented clubs internationally powered by Google to support and connect technology lovers on campus. The main activities include facilitating IT workshops and fostering programming-friendly environments for the alike to share and exchange knowledge.
I was appointed as the technical leader of GDSC in VNUK Institute in Viet Nam. The team has three main departments: technical, media & events, public relations; all under supervision of the GDSC campus lead. We hosted a number of workshops to help students in technology decide their career path. My technical team and I also designed an Introduction to Python course that aimed to provide basic intro knowledge to programming beginners; the course registered almost 25 students in total.

Google Software Product Sprint
A Google 11-week program that’s halfway between a hackathon and an internship! The goal of SPS is to provide practical experience in collaborative, project-based web development while also connecting its participants to a community of like-minded peers.
I was in a team with 2 peers and a project advisor who is a Google software engineer. We learned everything from building a personal portfolio to how to master Git and finally built a project together. Our project was a platform that improves communication among people with hearing difficulties. We conducted a lot of industry practices such as code review, weekly meetings and dividing our project into stages: prototype, beta, alpha, and demo. That was a great experience where I could connect with a world of like-minded people; and above all, I could understand how a real world project building process would shape.

Microsoft Student Hackathon 2021
That was a fun yet brain racking period of 72 hours coding and coding. We brainstormed a lot of ideas and eventually ended with the idea of incorporating gaming experience into competitive programming.
I was in a team of 5 members: 1 frontend developer, 2 backend developers, 1 graphic designer, and 1 project manager. We won the first prize in our category surpassing over 50 other projects.

CCSC:MW 2021 Hybrid Programming Competition
CCSC:Midwest 2021 is a programming competition open to all undergraduates in universities in the Midwest region in the US. Like a standard competitve programming contest, CCSC 2021 had a set of 6 problems and participating team had to solve the problems against the time and other teams to gain a good standing.
I teammed up with 2 other sophomores majoring in computer science. We used Python for the competition and ended up at the 4th place out of almost 30 teams. We didn't have a recognition for this contest because only three winning teams received it. However, this was the first contest that I joined in the US and we had good teamwork.

Augustana College Computer Science Tutor
I was also an enthusiatic computer science tutor at Augustana College in the 2021-2022 school year. My courses sweep a range of topics in the CS major: Python, Java, Data Structures, Object-Oriented Programming.
Being a tutor gave me an opportunity to work with various people from many disciplines. I improved my communication skills significantly by frequently explaining notions and paradigms in the related subjects. Such skills attained enhances my ability to explain a solution to both tech and non-tech people which might prove useful in my career in the future.
